Your Story Matters
Orthodox Wedding Photographer in Colorado
Wedding photography and videography for your Orthodox Wedding. Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Denver and beyond.
Orthodox Wedding photography & Videography
Your wedding isn’t just a day, it’s a sacrament. Your wedding photography and videography should reflect the true beauty of your wedding ceremony and be captured with reverence. I’m Orthodox myself and was married at Holy Theophany in Colorado Springs. I’ve photographed at Holy Theophany, St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, and St. Catherine’s in Denver.

My Philosophy
“Beauty will save the world” -Fyodor Dostoevsky
My highest aim is to make your wedding photos and film truly beautiful. And true beauty goes beyond visual aesthetics, it’s about telling your authentic and emotional story. Preserving as much beauty as I can of your wedding day is my way of saving the world. That’s why I love capturing Orthodox weddings. The Orthodox wedding service is filled with symbolism and meaning.
Meet your photographer
Hi! I’m Andrew

I’ve been a wedding photographer since 2015, and in that time I’ve learned that story is EVERYTHING. You have a unique story that deserves to be told. There are a lot of photographers out there that take pretty pictures, but I take pride in getting to know and understand my client’s story and priorities for the wedding day, making sure I capture what’s important to you.
As an Orthodox Christian, I understand the spiritual significance of your wedding ceremony, the sacrament of marriage, and the reverence the ceremony calls for.

Photo & Video
Capturing both photo AND video on your wedding day means there is one team that will actually work together, so you can feel confident that your special moments won’t be missed.
My Mission
Provide an enjoyable and stress-free experience
The memories you form on your wedding day should be about the sacrament of marriage, not organizing a photography production.
My discovery process is there to keep you present during one of the happiest days of your life.
Every Collection Includes an album

Your story deserves to be told and the best way to preserve the whole story of your wedding day is your wedding album. Every photography collection comes with a beautiful, genuine leather wedding album with layflat pages that will not only tell the full story of your wedding day, but will preserve your legacy for generations.
How I photograph an Orthodox Wedding
The Betrothal
The service opens with the blessing of the rings. The priest blesses them over your heads, and your sponsor exchanges them between your hands three times. It’s quick and close, so I’m positioned to see both of your hands and faces.
The candles
You’re each given a lit candle to hold through the service, a sign of Christ as the light of your marriage. Candlelight is some of the most beautiful light in the church, and I photograph it without flash so it stays that way.
The joining of hands
The priest joins your right hands as he prays for your union. It’s one of the quietest moments of the service, and one of the most meaningful photos you’ll have.
The Crowning
The crowns are placed on your heads and exchanged three times. This is the heart of the service, and I make sure I have a clear view of both of you, your sponsor and the priest.
The common cup
After the Gospel reading of the wedding at Cana, you each drink three times from a common cup of wine, a sign of the life you now share.
The Dance of Isaiah
The priest leads you around the table three times while the hymns are sung, often with your sponsors following behind. It’s the most joyful moment of the service, and the one couples ask about most. I plan where to be for every lap.

How long is an Orthodox wedding service?
Usually about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on your parish and the hymns. I’ll help you build your timeline so portraits and travel to the reception don’t feel rushed.
Can you photograph during the service?
Yes, with your priest’s blessing. I talk with him ahead of time, never use flash, stay out of the altar area, and keep a low profile so your guests stay focused on the service.
Do you photograph the Sponsors?
Always. Your sponsors are part of the service, from exchanging the rings and crowns to following you in the Dance of Isaiah. I make sure they’re in the key moments and in your family portraits.
Do you know the different Orthodox traditions?
I’m Orthodox myself and know the order of the service. Every parish has its own customs, so I learn yours before the day.
Do you travel to other parishes?
Yes. I’ve photographed weddings at Holy Theophany in Colorado Springs and St. Catherine’s in Denver, and I travel to Orthodox parishes across Colorado and the United States.
Do you offer video for Orthodox weddings?
Yes. A film lets you hear the hymns and prayers again, which matters even more at an Orthodox wedding. My hybrid collections include photo and film from one team. Read more in Is a Wedding Video Worth It for an Orthodox Wedding
Do you Only photograph Orthodox Weddings?
I photograph all kinds of weddings from Catholic to Protestant and non-religious weddings. You can check out my full wedding page HERE
